Your Support Helps AAD!

With the support and involvement of members, families and friends, AAD can effectively advocate and represent deaf and hard of hearing Arkansans. Your support will help AAD to:

  • Advocate for equal access for deaf and hard of hearing Arkansans to improved educational, employment, and public services.
  • Develop programs to prepare future deaf and hard of hearing leaders.
  • Promote public awareness and education about deaf and hard of hearing people.
  • Support the programs and services of AAD including its boards, committees, and public education activities.
  • Advocate for and provide some funds for closed captioned programs on public TV.
  • Provide workshops and training as needed by the state. Invest in the future growth of AAD.

Member Dues (2 years)

Active Member: Membership dues are $35.00 for two-years for any person interested in supporting the mission and goals of AAD. Active members shall enjoy all rights afforded members such as making motions, voting, and holding office. Each Member will Receive; a. Quarterly Deaf Arkansan Newsletter, b. Events Announcement, c. Legislative News, d. Training/Workshops Notification and e. Right to voice and vote during Biennial convention.

Senior Citizen Member:

Membership dues are $25.00 for two-years for any person age 62 or older and interested in supporting the mission and goals of AAD. Senior citizen members shall enjoy all rights afforded members such as making motion, voting, and holding office. Each Member will Receive:

a. Quarterly Deaf Arkansan Newsletter,
b. Events Announcement,
c. Legislative News,
d. Training/Workshops Notification and
e. Right to voice and vote during Biennial convention.

Student Members:

Membership dues are $25.00 for two-years for any person who is a full-time student enrolled in an accredited educational program and interested in supporting the mission and goals of AAD. Full-time students are those who are age 16 and older and enrolled in a secondary education program for a full day on a regular basis or who are registered for at least ten (10) hours of credit in a postsecondary education program (i.e., vocational-technical, community college, college, or university). Proof of full-time enrollment status shall be provided by letter from student’s school signed by principal, teacher, counselor, or by students Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) counselor. Student members shall have same rights and privileges afforded active members such as making motions, voting, or holding office. Each Member will Receive:

a. Quarterly Deaf Arkansan Newsletter,
b. Events Announcement,
c. Legislative News,
d. Training/Workshops Notification and
e. Right to voice and vote during Biennial convention.

Organization/Chapter Affiliate Membership:

The annual Affiliate Membership dues is $50.00. An organization of or for deaf and hard of hearing persons and located in the State of Arkansas may apply for organization or chapter affiliate membership. Upon approval of the AAD Executive Board, eligible organization/chapter affiliate members shall receive benefits from their affiliation with AAD through mutual agreement with the AAD organizational/chapter affiliate committee. Affiliate will receive:

a. Quarterly Deaf Arkansan Newsletter,
b. Events Announcement,
c. Legislative News,
d. One training/workshop for your chapter per year,
e. Post your news or events on AAD Website/social media and
f. Right to voice during Biennial Convention.
