Edwin Mitchell


Edwin has been working with the state of Arkansas as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for three years. Edwin is serving his first term on the board of Arkansas Association of the Deaf (AAD).

With his father being in the Air Force, Edwin has lived in several states but is proud to call St. Louis, Missouri his home. Edwin first moved to Little Rock in 2007 to attend college. In 2011, Edwin graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) with a B.A. in History and a minor in Sign Language Studies. After UALR, Edwin lived in Knoxville, Tennessee for two years. In 2013, Edwin graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with an M.S. degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a focus in Deafness. The current job brought Edwin back to Arkansas once again.

During his free time, Edwin enjoys attending Deaf events, Razorback games, collecting wine, and being politically active in various liberal issues within the city of Little Rock and his church home at Second Presbyterian Church of Little Rock.

Edwin is currently married to Shelbie Mitchell. They reside in Benton, Arkansas with their cat named Salem.
